Travel Mistakes to Avoid Making

As an avid traveler, I’ve made my fare share of mistakes. Here’s some of my lessons learned to help your next trip hopefully go more smoothly!

Overpacking: Remember what Coco Chanel said? Before leaving the house, take off on item/accessory. Apply this method to your packing. Put out what you want to take and then remove at least 4 outfits.

Over Cramming Itinerary: Trying to visit 5 countries in one week is just never gonna work. Trying to explore 20 parts of a city in 2 days is also not going to work. Take your time and try to spread things out so that you can truly get a feel for a place!

Failing to Notify Your Bank: As a safety measure, banks WILL freeze your cards if you start making purchases in a foreign place. When unexpected, this can be so annoying and not something you want to deal with during travel!

Forgetting Cash: You’ll never know when some place does not take a credit card - trust me. Do yourself a favor and always bring some type of cash!

Follow some of these tips and your next trip is sure to run more smoothly!
