How to Make Travel A Habit

For some people, traveling comes naturally. They can easily pick a destination, research it, and known exactly what they will accomplish while there. For others, the thought of traveling can be daunting. Where to go? How to know what to do? What is safe? How much will this cost me?

I’ve worked hard over the years to become incredibly comfortable traveling - even to destinations that might seem odd or difficult to visit! Below are a few of my tips for where to start when you want to start traveling more regularly:

1. Save ahead of time. Put aside whatever amount you can afford each month into a “travel” account so you can more easily justify the spend.

2. Plan your destinations. I have my major destinations mapped out for the next ten years!

3. Sign up for a credit card with travel perks. If you’re already spending money, you might as well gain something out of it! The Chase Sapphire cards or Venture cards are awesome options.

4. Research ahead of time so you know what things will cost. If you have a better idea of what something will cost, it makes it easier to attain that goal!

5. Follow other travel blogs! You can or course follow @go.with.katie (😂) but there are so many inspiring bloggers out there that will help you budget and save and visit awesome places!
