The Best Kept Egyptian Secret for 4,000 years

karnak temple

In Luxor, Egypt there is a place known as Karnak Temple.

If you’re like me, you may never have heard of this place.

But here’s why this place is so incredibly special.

Karnak Temple is 4,000 years old and up until 3 years ago there was NO COLOR in the temple.

You heard that right - while Karnak Temple has been around for nearly 4,000 years, the rainbow of colors inside has been hidden behind layers and layers of sand and dust for 1,000s of years.

The Egyptian government is currently working on a project to clean off the millennia of dust, revealing the original colors for the first time.

What does this mean for you? Well you could go tomorrow and see some incredible colors, but if you go even the week after, you’ll see EVEN MORE colors than before.

How insanely cool is that?!

Karnak Temple’s other claim to fame? It’s 134 stunning and MASSIVE columns that line the entranceway.

Be sure to bring water and sunscreen. it is incredibly hot inside!

The little cafe towards the rear of the complex had some of my favorite french fries I’ve ever tasted. So, if you’re hungry, sit down, relax a little, and definitely get the french fries.
